When Sylvia Mann “emigrated out of love” to Canada from Karlsruhe, Germany in 2000, she had been involved in health care for nearly twenty years. Perhaps French philosopher, Voltaire, sums up her feelings about BodyTalk and our individual responsibility to look after own health needs:
God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well.
With training in geriatric nursing, Sylvia took on the responsibilities as a charge or ward nurse, looking after the specific needs of Alzheimer and dementia patients. She worked in Switzerland for a time until she was needed at home to care for her mother’s worsening heart condition. In 1990 Sylvia returned to college and graduated suma cum laude in 1992 with the credentials to become a nursing instructor. Eventually, with a business partner, she reached a major career goal when she employed care givers to be situated in private homes and institutional settings.
Around that same time, deepening her knowledge base about other aspects of the human journey, she began studying ‘esoteric’ healing techniques: holistic energy. She intuitively knew that suppressed energy must come out or it can actually kill the body, mind or spirit of uninformed sufferers.
What she learned in Aura Soma (the ability to read colours around the body) and through Cantor Holistic Touch® , helped her begin to channel energies. She incorporated astrology into her skill set. Prominent scientists such as Nicholas Copernicus and Johannes Kepler had closely combined astrology, astronomy and mathematics into their studies.
By 2006, living in a new country and adapting a different lifestyle, Sylvia describes herself as being “stressed”. Through the suggestion of a co-worker, Sylvia had the first of a series of BodyTalk sessions with chiropractor Dr. Peter Kravchenko in Teeswater. Already a Reiki Master, Sylvia’s innate wisdom resonated with the powerful influences on body/mind in the simple techniques she was shown. She immediately noticed changes in her posture, thinking and feeling, her overall approach to things and she felt more relaxed.
Sylvia has successfully completed many BodyTalk Modules: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, Advanced Practical 1 & 2, Breakthrough 1 and BodyTalk Access. She intends to further spread the matrix by taking advanced courses. Because of her love of animals, Sylvia has a natural interest in using AnimalTalk combined with her other skills. Her Canadian husband has been a farmer for many years and their recent move to a smaller acreage has meant more time for an extended commitment to health care of nearby rural communities.
Sylvia is “glad that the IBA is developed and BodyTalk is out there.” We now have found a way “to listen to your body - to pay attention to your health”.
